About Title I
What does it mean to be a Title I school?

Title I funds are used to supplement the instructional program at the school. The federal “supplement not supplant” provision requires that federal funds be used to enhance the regular educational program. They must not be used to substitute funds or services that would otherwise be provided with other (non-federal) funds.
How much money does NHE get from Title I?
- Currently, NHE is allocated $157,990 to spend for 2025-2026 based on a free/reduced lunch rate of 96%.
- We will pay 2.0 positions out of Title I this year:
- Math Interventionist
- Student Support Coach
- The remaining funds total around $22,868 for tutoring, supplies & materials, parent/family engagement, etc…

What is the School Compact?
- Title I parents and families have the right to be involved in the development of their school’s parent and family engagement policy.
- The compact is a commitment from the school, the parent, and the student, to share in the responsibility for improved academic achievement.
- School Compacts are living documents! This edition is in hard copy form, and is also available on our school website, as well as the open Google Form for your continued input.
Request Teacher Qualifications
How do I request the qualifications of my child's teacher?
- Title I parents and families have the right to request the qualifications of their child’s teachers.
- How are you notified of this right and what is the process for making a request?
- Right To Know Letters are linked on our school website and copies are available.
- Parents/families can request this information at any time, and requests should be filled within 30 days
How can I be involved at NHE?
- Attend our school events and opportunities for engagement!
- Join Class Dojo! Communicate any questions/needs via the Class Dojo app and messaging feature. Stay up to date on school news and events, and classroom information.
- Join the PTSA and Volunteer, organize activities, and serve our school community on a regular basis.
- Serve on our School Improvement Team, and/or attend our School Improvement Team meetings.
